Please note that Tennant Duct Cleaning 2000 staff are uniformed, clean shaven, non smokers and wear identification badges.
- Make sure the cleaning company or contractor use "source removal" cleaning methods designed to extract the debris within your heating and cooling system. Ensure that the registers and boots are hand washed (not air washed-blowing with air gun)
- Get a reference from a past client. Ask if they were happy with the service provided and if they benefited from the service. Also ask if they experienced any problems with their heating system after the cleaning was completed.
- Make sure technicians take care to protect your home and belongings. They should wear "booties" over their work boots and have runners in place to protect your flooring. In addition all registers should be covered with carpet samples. Duct cleaning is a relatively routine process and you should not have to do any unusual house cleaning after the service is completed.
- Ask if the firm has all of the necessary business and professional training such as WHIMIS, Fall Arrest, Confined Space and Sizzers Lift, WSIB and Liability Insurance. Most Sub-Contractors do not have coverage.
- Remain alert for "add-on" sales. Some companies will charge a base fee and then apply additional cost for sanitizers and other services. Ensure that there are no surprises; agree on the total costs and scope of the service before the work begins.
If you answer 'YES' to any of the following questions, your house may suffer from "Indoor Air Pollution"
- Do you have an air circulating system that utilizes a standard fiberglass filter?
- Do you have pets?
- Are there smokers in the house?
- Does anyone in your house suffer from allergies, asthma, or other respiratory problems?
- Do you regularly clean excessive dust accumulations from your household furniture?
- Do you experience headaches, nausea, burning sensations in the nose, throat or eyes when inside the home?
- Do you have "dust trails" or discolouring coming out of your air duct registers?
- When you last changed your furnace filter, did you see dust and dirt inside the filter housing?
Dirt, dust, mold, pollen, and animal dander are recirculated through air ducts everytime we turn on our heat or air conditioner. Combine this with moisture and you have the ideal breeding ground for fungi, germs, and household mold. Studies have confirmed that some diseases, including salmonella, strep and legionnaires disease are spread by contaminated air ducts. |
